When you walk through Parc Extension on a Friday afternoon, you might catch the aroma of warm food wafting through the streets. You might see a friendly face offering a hot meal, a bottle of water, or just a kind word. That’s ICIO — quietly, compassionately, making a difference where it matters most.

Since 2006, ICIO has been more than just a charity; it’s been a lifeline. Founded by Mahmood Raza Baig, our mission has always been simple: fight poverty and stand for human rights. But over the years, that mission has grown deeper roots — into the lives, hearts, and stories of the people who call Parc Extension home.

A Tradition of Care — Every Single Friday

When the pandemic struck, many services came to a halt. But our commitment to feeding the homeless didn’t stop — in fact, it became more urgent than ever. Every Friday, without fail, our team shows up to serve meals with dignity and love. What may seem like a simple meal is, for many, a reminder that they’re seen, valued, and not forgotten.

Empowering Through Education and Connection

But our work goes far beyond food.

Our founder, Mahmood Raza Baig, has always believed in the power of education and human connection. From hosting literacy and English workshops for refugee families and women, to helping immigration detainees navigate the complexities of the system through translation and support, ICIO has become a quiet but powerful force of advocacy and empowerment.

We’ve also accompanied elderly, low-income residents — many of whom live alone — to their medical appointments, offering not just assistance, but companionship. Because sometimes, healing starts with knowing you’re not alone.

Looking Ahead: A Community Built on Solidarity

As we look toward the future, our vision remains rooted in compassion and community. We dream of expanding our services — reaching more people, offering more workshops, and continuing to stand with those who need it most. And we can’t do it without you.

Whether you’re a volunteer, a donor, or someone who simply shares our story — thank you. Your support keeps this mission alive. It keeps hope alive.
